The Chicago Bears released a statement after Monday's mass shooting at a July 4th parade at Highland Park.

"We are heartbroken and grief-stricken at the senseless violence in Highland Park," the statement reads. "Our thoughts are with those who have been wounded and our heart goes to the loved ones of those lost or injured and the entire Highland Park community."

As of Monday night, six people have been pronounced dead and several dozen injured.

A person of interest named Robert Crimo III has been taken into custody.
