Bears trade for talented DE Joe Tryon-Shoyinka from Browns |
The Chicago Bears have bolstered their defensive front just hours before the NFL trade deadline, acquiring defensive end Joe Tryon-Shoyinka from the Cleveland Browns, according to multiple reports.
In exchange, the Bears are sending a sixth-round pick to Cleveland, while receiving a seventh-round pick in return. Tryon-Shoyinka, 26, has appeared in 74 games over five NFL seasons. He signed a one-year contract with the Browns this past offseason after spending his first four years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he recorded all 15 of his career sacks — including a career-high five in 2023. This season, he has yet to register a sack through eight games. The move comes just days after Chicago lost defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo to a season-ending Achilles injury during Sunday’s win over the Bengals. The Bears (5-3) will look to keep their momentum going when they host the New York Giants (2-7) this Sunday at Soldier Field.
