Report: Bears meet with first-round OL prospect |
The Chicago Bears will likely try to upgrade their offensive line before the 2021 season.
The team may decide to use their No. 20 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft on an offensive lineman to help out the offense. One possible choice that could fall to the Bears is Virginia Tech's Christian Darrisaw. The Bears offensive line coach Juan Castillo and two others were at Virginia Tech's Pro Day recently to watch him and other players perform. In addition to that, reportedly, the Bears spent time meeting with the first-team All-ACC lineman. He finished the 2020 college football season with a 95.6% overall grade by Pro Football Focus. It should be interesting to see if he falls into the Bears selection range at No. 20 overall. Some mock drafts have him going in the Top 10, which seems fairly high, but he is rated by some as the No. 2 tackle available. Virginia Tech OT Christian Darrisaw confirms to me that he has met with the #Bears.
Chicago's OL coach Juan Castillo was in attendance for his Pro Day today. Darrisaw projects as a Round 1 talent.
