Bears Media Relations -

The Bears on Thursday signed veteran linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga to a two-year contract extension.

Ogbongbemiga, who joined the Bears in 2024, appeared in all 17 games for Chicago and shared the team-lead with a career-high 11 total special teams tackles last season.

Since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2021, Ogbongbemiga has appeared in 64 career games for the Chargers (2021-23) and Bears (2024), amassing 27 tackles (16 solo) defensively, including two sacks, and two fumble recoveries in his career. Ogbongbemiga secured his first sack as a member of the Bears in Chicago's Week 6 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in London last season.

A native of Lagos, Nigeria, Ogbongbemiga appeared in 49 career games over four seasons of action at Oklahoma State (2017-20). Ogbongbemiga capped his collegiate tenure with a Second-Team All-Big 12 Conference selection after leading the Big 12 with three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
