Vegas odds on Bears-Vikings

by - Correspondent -

Going into the season finale without their quarterback, Justin Fields, who is out due to a hip injury, the Bears are certainly not favored to win, particularly after allowing 41 points to the Detroit Lions last week.

They are eight-point underdogs, with the over/under at 42.5.

Understandably, 61% of the bets are being placed on the Vikings, with 79% of the money placed on them to clear the spread. Further, Minnesota has more to play for, with the No. 2 seed still in play in the NFC playoff race while the Bears are competing to solidify the No. 2 seed in the NFL Draft.

With Fields being out, this eliminates one of the safest individual player bets for the Bears. However, Bears fans could still count on running back David Montgomery to potentially put up a lot of rushing yards and bring in some cash. Minnesota also gives up an average of 123.4 rushing yards per game, which should give more opportunities to Montgomery. The Bears are also dealing with a multitude of injuries, not just at quarterback but also at offensive line. So, Montgomery should also see some more action in the passing game.

Another way for Bears fans to bet on this game is the over/under. After getting completely shut down by the Packers last week, the Vikings will most likely be looking to show that they are a playoff team that is capable of putting up a lot of points. The Bears' defense is also the worst-scoring team in the NFL, allowing an average of 27.1 points per game.

The Vikings' defense happens to be the second-worst scoring defense in the NFL, allowing an average of 25.9 points per game. Even with a third-string quarterback, Nathan Peterman, the Bears should be able to put up a decent amount of points. So, betters should definitely be betting over in this matchup because the Bears typically do go over in their games.
