Mike Ditka thinks Justin Fields should start at QB: "Let him learn" |
The most exciting news in a long time in the Chicago sports world was the selection by the Bears of rookie quarterback Justin Fields.
Fans and analysts have been debating if Fields is ready to start as a rookie or be a backup to begin the season to veteran Andy Dalton. Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports interviewed legendary Bears head coach Mike Ditka and he believes that Fields is the real deal. "Put him on the field and let him learn. You learn by playing. You don’t learn by watching," Ditka said. "Matt Nagy knows how to handle Fields, and he’ll do a good job with him." Nagy has publicly commented that Dalton will start the season as QB1. How long he stays as the starting quarterback is anyone's guess. Is Ditka right, or do you think Fields might lose some of his confidence if he had a rough patch to start the season?
