Albert Almora Jr. injures neck

Chicago Cubs center fielder Albert Almora Jr. injured his neck on Friday afternoon diving for a flyball by Giovanny Urshela during the game against the Cleveland Indians.

Almora Jr left the game after grounding out in the third inning after neck soreness at the top of the inning.

It is not known how long he will be out with the neck tightness on his left side.

Cubs shortstop Addison Russell was already sitting out the game with back tightness.

Friday Night Update: Almora Jr. was seen by the trainers and was cleared to travel with the team to Vegas on Saturday according to multiple reports.
