BREAKING: Tyler Chatwood leaves game due to injury |
CINCINNATI — With one out in the bottom of the third on Sunday, Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Tyler Chatwood called for a trainer and subsequently left the game. Chatwood recently returned from an injured list stint brought on by a back injury.
The Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds were scoreless at Great American Ball Park at the time of Chatwood's start coming to an abrupt end. He threw several surprisingly off-mark pitches in the third frame that were explained by the fact that he was injured. Reliever Colin Rea replaced Chatwood on the mound.
