Craig Counsell held his pregame press availability on Thursday and was asked about an update to standout rookie pitcher Cade Horton.

Counsell said that Horton is “Right now, Cade is a go.”

He added that Horton remains “on track still,” though there are still “areas of concern” with his ribs on the recent MRI.

"We will continue to get more information on it and see where that leaves us."

No further testing is planned, but additional doctors will review the MRI. After a two-day break, Horton is expected to throw tomorrow.

Horton talked about his rib injury on Sunday.

“It was just a perfect storm. There wasn’t one pitch. There wasn’t one cough. I think it was the combination of fatigue, cough, then I go out and try to throw 98 and it just gives out. I don’t think there was any protecting it. It was just the matter of when.”
