Cubs lineup vs. Pirates, Bryant out

The Chicago Cubs (32-33) will battle the Pittsburgh at 6:05 p.m. CDT on Friday night at PNC Park televised on WGN-TV.

Eddie Butler will take the mound for the defending World Champions as they try to find a way a game on the road. In 2017 through seven starts, Butler has a 4-3 record with 4.03 ERA with 21 strikeouts.

One lineup note is that first baseman Anthony Rizzo will leadoff again after being a spark plug for the last two games drilling home runs in each game.

His partner in crime Kris Bryant will get a day-off for the Cubs.

The Cubs are currently in second place in the National League Central (2.5 GB) behind the Brewers.
