Kris Bryant injury update

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant remains out of action with a wrist injury. David Bote will start in his place at the hot corner for the Cubs' contest with the Chicago White Sox at Wrigley Field on Friday. Meanwhile, at second base, veteran infielder Hernan Perez will make his first start as a Cub.

Bryant injured his left ring finger and wrist when diving for a fly ball last Wednesday, and, although he played with the ailment for several games, the former National League MVP has missed the last three Cubs contests. On Tuesday, Bryant received an injection in his wrist to help alleviate the pain, and he received additional treatment on Friday. "KB" has been able to take swings, though, and is considered day-to-day.
