Coghlan agrees to terms with NL team

Former Chicago Cubs outfielder Chris Coghlan has agreed to terms with the Phillies on a minor league deal on Thursday and will be invited to spring training.

In 2016, he batted .188 with six homers, 30 RBI, and .290 on-base percentage. The second half of the season with the Cubs, he batted .252 which was a big improvement over his first half (.146).

For his career, he has batted .260 with 52 home runs, 229 RBI, and .335 on-base percentage.

He was drafted in the first round by the Florida Marlins in the 2006 MLB draft.
