Chicago Cubs manager Craig Counsell spoke to the media before the first spring training game talking about the addition of Justin Turner, the decision to DFA Alexander Canario and much more.
“We’re adding a bat. That was the goal, to add a bat to the group,” Counsell said about Turner. “Justin has been a very good hitter in this league for a long time. It’s largely going to be off the bench kind of at the start.
