Cubs make several roster moves

CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs announced the following roster moves in conjunction with today’s deadline to tender/non-tender 2026 contracts for unsigned players on their 40-man roster.

Two arbitration-eligible players have been tendered 2026 contracts: right-handed pitcher Javier Assad and left-handed pitcher Justin Steele.

The Cubs have non-tendered two players: catcher Reese McGuire and right-handed pitcher Eli Morgan.

The Cubs 40-man roster now stands at 30.
