Bears add offensive tackle to active roster, downgrade two players on injury report |
The Chicago Bears announced Saturday that they have flexed offensive tackle Aviante Collins to the active roster from the practice team.
Collins signed with the Bears on July 26. The addition of Collins to the team is because Bears offensive lineman Nate Davis did not travel to Tampa Bay due to personal reasons and is doubtful to play tomorrow. The next man up would likely be second-year lineman Ja'Tyre Carter, the current backup on the depth chart. The Bears drafted him in the seventh round in the 2022 draft. Backup defensive back Josh Blackwell has been downgraded to out (hamstring) for Sunday's game and didn't travel with the team. He would have gotten snaps because of Kyler Gordon's injury, but that's not the case now. So no Nate Davis, no Teven Jenkins, no Doug Kramer, no Kyler Gordon, no Josh Blackwell, and no Alan Williams for tomorrow's Chicago Bears game. A death in the family is the reason why Chicago Bears offensive lineman Nate Davis won't play tomorrow, per @BradBiggs.
It's only Week 2........
