Bears make several roster cuts |
It's tough to get a roster spot in the NFL.
The Chicago Bears announced on Monday morning they have released offensive lineman Gage Cervenka, wide receiver Jester Weah, and defensive back Dionte Ruffin. Cervenka was brought in for a team visit recently after a few injuries on the offensive line. He previously had a short stint on the Bears roster in May. For his Clemson career, he played 1,479 snaps over 46 career games, including 23 starts. In his two seasons as a starter, the Tigers had an impressive 29-1 record. This move was made before the first roster deadline on August 17. The Bears still have to cut two players before the roster deadline at 3 pm CDT on Tuesday to get down to the 85-man mark.
