Bears select DL in second round of 2025 NFL Draft

The Chicago Bears selected Texas A&M University defensive lineman Shemar Turner with the No. 62 overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Turner joins the Bears after starting 35-of-43 career games played at Texas A&M (2021-24), earning Second-Team All-Southeastern Conference honors following the 2023 season. Having started every game played along the defensive front for the Aggies over the last three years, Turner has totaled 115 tackles, including 22.5 tackles for loss and 10.0 sacks, with three forced fumbles and one pass defensed. As a junior in 2023, finished the season with the third-most tackles for loss (10.5) and the second-most sacks (6.0) among all Aggie defenders.

A DeSoto, Texas, native, Turner prepped at DeSoto High School, where he was named District Player of the Year after amassing with 76 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks and two forced fumbles (one returned for a touchdown), for DeSoto.
