Bears defensive tackle Andrew Billings likely out for the season, headed to IR

by - Senior Editor -

Tough news for the Bears defense.

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus announced on Wednesday that nose tackle Andrew Billings is headed to the injury list after tearing his pectoral muscle in the 29-9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Billings will have surgery, and his season is likely over.

"We'll see where it is," Eberflus said if Billings can recover from the injury this season.

He has 13 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble this season.

In other injury news for the Bears, safety Jaquan Brisker will miss Sunday's game against the Patriots as he still has not passed his concussion protocol. It will be the fifth week in a row he has missed.

Offensive linemen Braxton Jones (knee) and Kiran Amegadjie (calf) were both out of practice with their respective injuries.

Defensive backs Kyler Gordon (hamstring) and Terell Smith (ankle) were limited participants at practice.
