Caleb Williams addresses his contract situation

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Bears are hopeful for an explosive offense in 2024 with their rookie combo of quarterback Caleb Williams and receiver Rome Odunze added to the mix.

However, both are unsigned with training camp just a few days away.

Williams was at his Caleb Cares Foundation event this weekend and was asked about his contract situation.

“I’m not handling that,” Williams told the Chicago Tribune. “My lawyers and attorney and everybody, the head of the Bears, everybody up there up top is handling that. That’s not my position that I’m handling.”

According to Spotrac, Williams's projected salary on a four-year deal is around $38.5 million. The signing bonus would be around $24.8 million with a fifth-year option.

Williams is excited to get the season started.

“You start getting to the end of the break, and you’re training, and you’re ready to go,” Williams said. “Really excited. … I’m really happy to be back in Chicago and to get this thing going. We’re only about three weeks away.”

Rookies will report to training camp on July 16.
