Roster Move: Bears sign linebacker DeMarquis Gates |
The Chicago Bears announced on Saturday that they have signed linebacker DeMarquis Gates to the 53-man roster.
Gates was previously on the Bears practice squad. The 27-year-old appeared in three games for the Bears last season, playing on defense and special teams. He had one tackle and one fumble recovery during that stint. He was originally signed by the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent of Ole Miss in 2018. The team had an available roster spot after veteran defensive end Yannick Ngakoue had season-ending ankle surgery and was placed on the injured reserve.
