Roster Move: Eddie Goldman out against Browns, DT flexed from practice squad |
The Chicago Bears announced on Saturday afternoon that defensive tackle Eddie Goldman has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.
Goldman didn't travel with the team to Cleveland as he didn't practice on Friday after being fairly limited Wednesday and Thursday with his knee injury. It will be his third straight game he has been out this season. Since he sat out last season with COVID-19 concerns, he hasn't played in an NFL game since December 2019. Tough news for the Bears on Goldman as he is one of their best defenders when healthy. The team has flexed defensive tackle Margus Hunt from the practice squad to the active roster to add depth for Sunday's game. The #Bears get $6.66 million in cap space next year if they cut Eddie Goldman.
That scenario is becoming more and more realistic as this season unfolds.
