Myrtle Beach Pelicans announce 2023 roster

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, a minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, have announced their roster for the 2023 season, and it's shaping up to be an exciting year for the team.

Pitching will be a key component of the Pelicans' success this season, and the team has some promising arms on their roster. Cade Horton, the Cubs' No. 4 prospect, will be a player to watch on the mound. Joining him will be Jake Aldrich, Michael Arias, Yovanny Cabrera, Angel Gonzalez, Saul Gonzalez, Angel Hernandez, Nick Hull, Grant Kipp, Brody McCullough, Koen Moreno, Branden Noriega, Johzan Oquendo, Erian Rodriguez, Jose Romero, Marino Santy, and Kevin Waldez.

Behind the plate, the Pelicans will be relying on the skills of catchers Moises Ballesteros, Miguel Fabrizio, and Malcom Quintero. In the infield, the team has some exciting prospects, including Cristian Hernandez, the Cubs' No. 10 prospect, as well as Reivaj Garcia, Rafael Morel, Miguel Pabon, Reginald Preciado, Pedro Ramirez, and Felix Stevens.

In the outfield, the Pelicans will be looking to Parker Chevers, Jefferson Encarnacion, Christian Franklin, and Andy Garriola to provide some pop at the plate and solid defense in the field.
