Ryne Sandberg announces heartbreaking health update |
Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The Cub's all-time great had recently finished chemo treatment on his body, announcing there was no cancer in his body. Sandberg shared heartbreaking news on social media Tuesday that the cancer has returned and has spread to other organs. "To my Chicago Cubs, National Baseball Hall of Fame, the city of Chicago, and all my loyal fans, I want to share an update on my prostate cancer," Sandberg posted on social media. "Unfortunately, we recently learned the cancer has relapsed, and it has spread to other organs. This means that I’m back to more intensive treatment. We will continue to be positive, strong, and fight to beat this. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for me and my family." Sandberg is a nine-time Glove Glove winner and seven-time Silver Slugger winner. Best wishes to Ryno, and we pray for his full recovery.
