NFL Power Rankings 2020: Bears jump into top ten |
Another week has now come and gone in the NFL, we are now more than 25% through the season. There have been injuries, comebacks, no fans (at least in most stadiums), and tons of fun in this crazy 2020 season.
We at Bears HQ would love to deliver our Week 7 NFL Power Rankings after a fun and wild week 6 that did not include a Thursday Night Football game, but rather two on Monday night. We decided to explain the top 15 rankings. 1. Seahawks 5-0 - Russell Willson and the Seahawks are the only team in the league to be 5-0. Wilson has solidified himself as an MVP candidate with 19 touchdowns through five weeks, and the offense looks explosive through the first five weeks. The latest of their five wins was a comeback thriller over the Vikings in prime time — that and a Cheifs loss is enough to get the Seahawks to number 1. 2. Chiefs 5-1 - The reigning Super Bowl champions have been dethroned from the top spot in our rankings. A lackluster performance still saw the Chiefs score 32 points, resulting in the Chiefs’ first loss since last season. A big bounce-back win against the Bulls gets the Chiefs back up a spot. 3. Ravens 5-1- The revenge tour is underway for Baltimore. Baltimore sits at 5-1 after a nice win over the Eagles on Sunday. Lamar is back to using his legs, the defense looks scary, and the rest of the league should keep an eye on B-More. 4. Titans 5-0 - A year after making the AFC Championship, the Titans look poised to take advantage of a division that has lacked a true contender. Tennessee retained Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry, which was their bread and butter down the stretch. The Titans have a few defensive moves to go, but signing Jadeveon Clowney certainly helps. And the Titans have kept their hot streak alive after beating the Broncos, Jaguars and came from behind to beat the Vikings, blew out the Bills on Monday night after a Covid layoff, and now came from behind to beat the Texans. This team looks legit. 5. Steelers 5-0 - Another dominant win from a healthy James Connor, Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster, Ben Roethlisberger, and a large cast of characters. They have one of the best defenses in the league and have an emerging rookie in Chase Claypool. The Steelers have definitely been impressive so far. 6. Packers 4-1 - The Packers quietly went 13-3 last season and started year 2 of the Matt Lafleur era with a bang and a 4-1 record to show for it. Rodgers and the Packers had put up 30 or more points four games in a row before playing the Buccaneers, but the Bucs blew them out. The Packers' unstoppable offense looked terrible on Sunday. 7. Buccaneers 4-2 - A team with tons of expectations showed why last week. With all of the weapons this team has, they could claim the lead in the NFC South with a dominant defensive win. 8. Saints 3-2 - After losing in the postseason in heartbreaking fashion three years in a row, Drew Brees resigned with one goal in mind: a Lombardi Trophy. The quest has hit a rocky start after losing on Monday night to the Raiders and Sunday night to the Packers, but the Saints have since offered come from behind victories against the Lions and Chargers without Michael Thomas. The Saints are finally beginning to look like the Saints of old. 9. Bears 5-1 - The Bears rise to 9 after an impressive showing against the Panthers. That's two wins in a row, and the team now sits at 5-1 and leads the NFC North, despite this team not hitting their stride. The defense looks dynamic once again. This team needs to find its rhythm, but the pieces are there for success. 10. Bills 4-2 - The AFC East is finally for the taking, and the Bills look primed to take it, despite a hiccup on Monday Night against the Chiefs. Josh Allen has emerged as a legitimate MVP candidate, and the Bills looks scary in the AFC. The offense has more playmakers, and the defense is a force to be reckoned with, but two losses in a row drop this team to 10. 11. Colts 4-2 - The Colts were in our initial top 15 heading into the year, but a loss at the Jaguars' hands dropped them out of it. The Colts have been up and down this year. They have had strong wins against the Bears and Vikings but bad losses against the Jaguars and Browns. This week, a come from behind win over the Bengals is enough to raise the Colts to 11. 12. Raiders 3-2 - The Raiders have now beaten the Saints, Chiefs, and Panthers in what has been an impressive start for Las Vegas. Derek Carr has looked elite, the run game has been efficient, and the defense has done enough for Jon Gruden’s squad to be 3-2. 13. Rams 4-2 - In a year where the Rams were expected to take a step back after losing many pieces after last year, the Rams have turned heads in five weeks. The Rams have swept the NFC EAST and lost to the Bills and now 49ers so far, and are looking to solidify themselves as contenders in the NFC. 14. Browns 4-2 - The Browns’ four-game winning streak came to an end on Sunday at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Without Nick Chubb and Baker Mayfield out with a rib injury, this team looked out of sorts, and the Steelers exposed them. A strong 4-2 record keeps Cleveland in our top 15. 15. Cardinals 4-2 - The Cardinals are back in our top 15 after a huge showing on Monday Night against the Cowboys. Kyler Murray was slinging the ball and running all over the place, Kenyan Drake got going, and most of all, the defense looked fast and furious. Keep an eye on the Cardinals as the year continues. 16. Patriots 2-3 17. Panthers 3-3 18. 49ers 3-3 19.Dolphins 3-3 20. Cowboys 2-4 21. Broncos 2-3 22. Lions 2-3 23. Eagles 1-4-1 24. Chargers 1-4 25.
