CHICAGO - Jason Hammel won his six-straight start to lead the Cubs to a 4-1 win and sweep a doubleheader from the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday. Chicago held the Brewers to just nine hits and one run combined in the doubleheader.

Hammel (13-5, 2.75) pitched seven innings giving up just two hits and no runs to the Brewers. His performance just continued his fantastic pitching since the All-Star game in which he has 0.95 ERA in 6 starts.

Brewers starter Chase Anderson had to leave the game after the second batter of the game when he was hit in the leg by a Kris Bryant line drive.

In the third inning, the Cubs scored the first run on a Bryant RBI single to left that scored David Ross. The Cubs added three runs in the sixth when Zobrist had a leadoff double and then was driven home by a Willson Contreras' single. Javier Baez followed with a long two-run home run to center to make it 4-0.

Travis Wood gave up a homer with two outs in the ninth which ended the Cubs' chance to have a double shutout in a doubleheader for the first time since 1965. Aroldis Chapman came on to get the final out for his 26th save on the season.

The Cubs are now 16-3 in their last 19 games and 23-8 in their last 31 contests dating to July 10.

Earlier in the day Chicago defeated the Brewers by a score of 4-0 on a three-hitter.

Chicago will return to action on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. CST when Jon Lester (12-4, 2.93) faces Milwaukee's Jimmy Nelson (6-12, 4.07) in game three of the series.
