Cam Newton reportedly would welcome trade to Bears

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Bears finally got off of their losing streak with Sunday's win against the Lions.

However, that doesn't mean that all their offensive woes are healed, as some still question the ability of starting quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

NFL Network Insider dropped a bombshell of a Bears note on Tuesday when he said that former MVP-winning quarterback Cam Newton would welcome a trade to the Bears.

"He is a franchise quarterback that intends to be healthy by March," he said. "That means he is very tradeable similar to Joe Flacco. A place like Chicago if they are in a market for a quarterback, from my understanding, Cam Newton would, in fact, welcome if that all worked out."

Newton is on the injured reserve with a foot injury and hopes to be fully healthy by March.

He certainly would be worth the risk as the Bears would only be locked into a one-year contract worth $19 million for next season. Obviously, none of this makes any sense if the Bears pull it together and start clicking on all cylinders offensively during the second half of the season.
