Mitchell Trubisky benched in third quarter, replaced by Nick Foles

ATLANTA — For the first time on the season, quarterback Nick Foles went under center for the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The prized offseason acquisition replaced a struggling Mitchell Trubisky, who had already missed several wide-open receivers downfield, in the second half of the Bears' Week 3 matchup at Mercedez-Benz Stadium.

The switch was made with just under 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter and the Bears trailing the Atlanta Falcons 26-10. Trubisky was picked off on an ill-advised pass during the previous Chicago possession. Foles, a former Super Bowl MVP, was acquired from the Jacksonville Jaguars in the offseason.
