Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell left Sunday's game with a shoulder issue that has hampered him throughout the 2017 season. ESPN's Jesse Rogers is reporting that the Cubs will make a move on Monday to promote Jeimer Candelario from Triple-A Iowa to help bolster their lineup depth.

Candelario is batting .274 with 22 doubles, nine homers, 41 RBI in 63 games at Triple-A Iowa this season.

"Jeimer Candelario being recalled for the Cubs," ESPN's Jesse Rogers posted on Sunday night. "Russell injury likely the reason another body needed. Cubs carrying 9 relievers."

In 2017, Russell is batting .232 with seven homers, 29 RBI, and .300 on-base percentage.
