by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO, Ill. — The Chicago Cubs (18-12) defeated the St. Louis Cardinals (20-13) 6-5 at Wrigley Field on Saturday for their sixth straight win. Tallying five of their six runs on a pair of homers, the Cubs overcame a 4-run deficit en route to collecting the victory and setting up a potential sweep in the third and final game of the series on Sunday.

Recent Cubs call-up Taylor Davis went yard for the first time in his MLB career with a game-tying grand slam in the fourth inning. Later on, Cubs superstar Javier Baez smashed a go-ahead solo shot in the eighth frame that put the Cubs ahead for good.
