Bears place safety Jaquan Brisker on injured reserve

by - Senior Editor -

Tough news for the Monsters of the Midway.

The Chicago Bears announced on Thursday that they have placed standout safety Jaquan Brisker on the injured reserve.

Brisker has been dealing with a concussion (38 days) since the Week 5 game against the Carolina Panthers. After the hit, he has been out the last four games.

"I always have concern with anyone that's in concussion (protocol),” Eberflus said of Brisker on Oct. 23. "It's a big injury. It's something that you've got to be very careful about and our guys do a great job with those guys working through the protocol. That's why it's in place and that's why the NFL has instituted that. It's where it is right now and we're hoping that he's getting better every single day."

This is his third concussion in three years. He won't be eligible to get off the IR until Dec. 16 against the Minnesota Vikings at the earliest.

In five games this season, he has 40 tackles, one sack, one interception, a forced fumble and two pass breakups.
