Cubs sign Pedro Strop to one-year contract

Chicago Cubs reliever Pedro Strop was the last unsigned arbitration-eligible player for the World Series Champions and he just signed a one-year, 5.5 million contract with the team.

Strop had 2.85 ERA with 60 strikeouts and 0.89 WHIP last season and made $4.4 million. In 2014, he made 2.525 million. In the last three years with the Cubs, Strop has been very reliable with a sub-3.00 ERA and 20-plus holds per season.

For his career, he has 3.23 ERA with nine saves, 377 strikeouts, and 1.17 WHIP.
