Cubs Corner with Tony Andracki: 2021 season, offseason free agent talk, farm system, more

by - Staff Writer -

On the latest edition of the Cubs Corner, presented by Coach’s Bar and Grill, Anthony welcomed back Marquee Sports Network’s Tony Andracki to the show to break down the 2021 season and preview what’s to come in 2022 for the Cubs.

*Coach’s Bar and Grill is located at 6169 N Northwest Highway on the Northwest Side of Chicago and is open for business this fall. Check out their website or Facebook page for deals during bears games and more.*

The show started with Tony describing what his first full season with Marquee was like and went into detail about how the season felt like two seasons with how much the Cubs roster changed throughout the season.

Andracki also described what covering the trade deadline was like, which saw the Cubs trade Andrew Chafin, Ryan Tepera, Craig Kimbrel, Joc Pederson, Jake Marisnick, Anthony Rizzo, Javier Baez, Kris Bryant, and Trevor Williams at the deadline. Andracki talked in detail about covering Rizzo, Bryant, and Baez and how he will miss them as well.

Andracki also offered his opinions of whether or not a Rizzo, Bryant, Baez, Chafin, Tepera, or Kimbrel reunion with the Cubs is in the cards.

In addition, Andracki delivered a rundown of the Cubs farm system as well as emphasizing the Cubs’ priority this offseason will be pitching — and a few other things.

Finally, the two chatted about the playoffs and the way the former Cubs have been performing for their new teams in October.

That and more on the latest edition of the Cubs Corner.

As always this episode is available on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, and the CubsHQ website.
