Bears sign talented safety Dane Cruikshank

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Bears announced on Thursday that they have signed former Tennessee Titans safety Dane Cruikshank to a one-year deal worth over $1 million guaranteed.

Cruikshank is expected to battle DeAndre Houston-Carson for the starting strong safety spot.

In 2021, Cruikshank played in 14 games, including four starts recording 43 tackles and one forced fumble with an 86.6 passer rating against him. He also was a core member of their special teams' group on kickoff and punt coverage.

One of the best things that the speedy safety can do is match up on tight ends with his agility and size combo.

This is a solid signing for a veteran player that can really contribute to the Bears.

The 26-year-old was a fifth-round pick out of the Titans in 2018 from Arizona.
