Several former Bears players call out Matt Nagy, Bears' coaching staff

The Chicago Bears are in the midst of a six-game losing skid and, after starting the season 5-1, stand at 5-7 and barely hanging on in the NFC playoff hunt. Following the Bears' late-game collapse against the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon, several noteworthy former Chicago players called out the Bears' coaching staff.

Outside linebacker Lance Briggs, running back Matt Forte, center Olin Kreutz and offensive guard Kyle Long, all former Bears greats who are now retired, took Head Coach Matt Nagy to task. Via Twitter, Briggs and Forte pinned the blame on Nagy in the wake of the letdown defeat, with Forte adding that wholesale changes should be made to the team.

Long played for the Bears as recently as last season and is quite familiar with Nagy and the current Bears coaching staff. However, even he posited on Twitter that an in-season firing might be coming for Nagy, now that the Bears have lost six in a row. Kreutz is an analyst for NBC Sports Chicago, and he was highly critical of the Bears' coaching staff following the 34-30 loss to the Lions.

Despite the Bears' offense faring well at Soldier Field in Week 13, the Lions scored 14 points in a span of 41 seconds late in the game and ultimately won 34-30. Nagy has come under fire quite frequently this season, and being on the wrong end of an implosion against a Lions team fresh off having its head coach fired certainly will not help Nagy's job status.
