by -

CHICAGO - Major League Baseball and the Chicago Cubs today announced the tentative 2025 regular season schedule. The Cubs will open the 2025 season at the Tokyo Dome in Japan with two home games against the Los Angeles Dodgers, March 18-19, before returning stateside to play against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field, March 27-30. On April 4, the Cubs will host their home opener at Wrigley Field against the San Diego Padres.

The 2025 season will mark the second time the Cubs have opened the season in Japan, 25 years after doing so April 10, 2000, against the New York Mets. Following the two regular season games in Japan, the Cubs will return to Arizona to close out the Spring campaign (Spring Training schedule is to be announced at a later date).

After four games at the Diamondbacks and three games at the Athletics, the Cubs return home for a six-game homestand against the Padres (April 4-6) and the Texas Rangers (April 7-9). Chicago then heads back on the road for the second of three west coast trips with three games at the Dodgers (April 11-13) and at the Padres (April 14-16).

The 2025 schedule is highlighted by interleague play against every American League team for the third-straight year along with the annual home-and-home with the Chicago White Sox, which features a pair of three-game, weekend series May 16-18 at Wrigley Field and July 25-27 at Guaranteed Rate Field.

In addition to the home games against the Rangers and the White Sox, the Cubs interleague schedule includes hosting the Seattle Mariners (three games, June 20-22), the Cleveland Guardians (three games, July 1-3), the Boston Red Sox (three games, July 18-20), the Kansas City Royals (three games, July 21-23), the Baltimore Orioles (three games, August 1-3), and the Tampa Bay Rays (three games, September 12-14).

The Cubs are scheduled to host five holiday games in 2025: Easter, April 20 vs. Arizona; Memorial Day, May 26 vs. Colorado; Father’s Day, June 15 vs. Pittsburgh; Independence Day, July 4 vs. St. Louis; and Labor Day, September 1 vs. Atlanta.

The tentative 2025 Cubs regular season schedule is attached. Please note that the schedule is subject to change at any time.
