Pedro Strop has parted ways with Cubs

'Hats to the left' is no longer a thing right now.

Veteran righty Pedro Strop has decided to part ways with the Chicago Cubs.

The righty elected free agency on Wednesday, which ends his 2021 time with the ball club. He recently went down to the Dominican Republic to ponder his future, and he decided that this was best.

No word yet if he is looking for another opportunity with another MLB team.

“I wish him the best," Ross said to the media on Wednesday night. I hope that at some point, we reconnect.”

Both sides are on good terms and it is possible that Stropy reunites with the Cubs at some point down the line.

Strop signed a minor-league deal with the Cubs this spring, hoping to make the big league club but was placed on the alternate site squad.

He did make two appearances with the Cubs in mid-April, pitching two scoreless appearances and recording a win on April 13 against the Brewers.

For his time with the Cubs over 8 seasons, he has a 2.88 ERA in 413 appearances.
