Bears cornerback reportedly tears ACL |
This is not good news for Bears fans.
Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy told reporters after Tuesday's practice that cornerback Artie Burns left practice due to a left knee injury. Nagy didn't want to speculate on the seriousness of the injury as they await more information from the doctors. Burns was recently seen getting reps with the first-team squad on Monday so hopefully this is nothing serious. He signed a one-year deal with the Bears this offseason to provide some solid depth in 2020. For his young NFL career, he has 149 tackles, four interceptions, 27 pass deflections, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. Update: Tests showed that he tore his ACL. Bears now need rookie second-round pick, Jaylon Johnson, to be ready to become the opening-day starting right cornerback. https://t.co/NrIeQ1i6u9
