by - Senior Editor -

Former Chicago Bears head coach Mike Ditka is known for his no nonsense approach.

In a recent interview with TMZ, he told them that he is not a fan of player's kneeling during the national anthem during football games.

“If you can’t respect our national anthem, get the hell out of the country,” he replied. “That’s the way I feel. Of course, I’m old fashioned, so I’m only going to say what I feel.”

Ditka wants the pro players to appreciate the opportunities that the country has given them.

“You don’t protest against the flag, and you don’t protest against this country who’s given you the opportunities to make a living playing a sport that you never thought would happen,” Ditka added. “So, I don’t want to hear all the crap.”

The 80-year-old is currently the chairman of the Extreme Football League which is a women's football league.
