Cubs veteran reliever Pedro Strop is headed to the 10-injured list with left neck tightness according to ESPN's David Kaplan.

Strop's velocity has slipped in the last few weeks as he has had an extremely tough patch. In July, has a 7.00 ERA in nine innings pitched.

For the season, the 34-year old has a 5.20 ERA in 32 appearances.

In a corresponding move to fill his roster spot, reliever Duane Underwood has been recalled from Triple-A Iowa.

Underwood has been impressive since he has transitioned from a starter to a reliever. In the bullpen, the 25-year old has a 2.45 ERA with 35 strikeouts and only 8 walks in 25.2 innings pitched.
