by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs won their first World Series since 1908, and one of the main reasons was the midseason blockbuster trade of shortstop phenom Gleyber Torres to obtain fireballer closer, Aroldis Chapman.

NYSportsday.com interviewed Chapman on Tuesday, and he said that he would love to rejoin the New York Yankees.

"I would love to be a Yankee again," Chapman said.

Chapman is looking for a five-year deal worth $100 million dollars from a ballclub according to multiple reports.

“This is business, and the Yankees know that. They took a chance on me, and I will always be grateful.”

Chapman was 4-1 with a 1.55 ERA with 36 saves and 90 strikeouts during the regular season in 2016. In the postseason in 15.2 innings, he had a 3.45 ERA with four saves while striking out 21.

For his career, he has a 2.08 ERA with 182 saves and 636 strikeouts.
