Cubs make decision on Brandon Morrow

Some guys are just bit with the injury bug.

The Chicago Cubs have released veteran reliever Brandon Morrow according to multiple reports.

Morrow was dealing with a minor nerve procedure and it would have taken time for him to ramp up so it didn't make sense for the Cubs to keep him around in the shortened 60-game season.

It was going to be a long shot that Morrow would make the roster after signing this past offseason to a minor-league deal.

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, Morrow plans to pitch next season.

The 35-year old last threw in the majors during the first half of the 2018 season with the Cubs posting a 1.47 ERA and 22 saves during that span.

In total, he appeared in only 35 games for the Northsiders after signing a two-year, $21 million contract.
