Former Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell has signed with the Kiwoom Heroes of the KBO League, according to multiple reports.

The last two seasons, Russell has been playing in the Mexican League with Acereros de Monclova.

Russell played with the Heroes during the 2020 season, hitting .254 over 271 plate appearances.

In 2018, he was suspended 40 games under the MLB domestic violence policy.

The Cubs non-tendered Russell following the 2019 season and he has not played back in the major leagues since then.
