Fowler to join Cubs for White House visit

Former Chicago Cubs outfielder Dexter Fowler officially signed a five-year deal worth $82.5 million with the rival St. Louis Cardinals on December 9.

However, Fowler wants one last hurrah with the Cubs as he will join the Cubs for their White House visit to meet President Obama according to a report by ESPN's Jesse Rogers.

Fowler batted .276 with 13 homers, 48 RBIs, and 13 steals this past season and was named to his first National League All-Star team. However, his numbers do not tell the tale of his play, leadership, and how great of a teammate he was helping the team win a World Series for the first time in over a century.

The Cubs and Cardinals will play on Opening Night in 2017 on April 2 in St. Louis (8:30 pm ET, ESPN).
