Jason Heyward injury update

by - Senior Editor -

According to the Cubs, outfielder Jason Heyward is being evaluated for an injury to his right torso/abdomen region and will have an MRI on Saturday.

Heyward was injured after making an amazing catch and then crashing into the right field wall in the first inning against the Giants on Friday night. Heyward rolled over in obvious pain but held on to the ball before grabbing his right side. He walked off on his own power after a few minutes under the supervision of the team athletic trainer.

Kris Bryant moved to right field, and Tommy La Stella played third base.
