Tommy La Stella signs $18.75 million contract with Giants

A former Cubs favorite just got paid.

The San Francisco Giants announced Thursday that they have signed infielder Tommy La Stella to a three-year deal, worth $18.75 million.

He will make $2 million in 2021, $5.25 million in 2022, and $11.5 million in 2023.

The 32-year-old batted .281 with 14 doubles, two triples, five homers, and a .819 OPS in 55 games last season.

His best season as a pro came in 2019 when he hit .295 with 16 homers, 49 runs, and 44 RBIs as an All-Star with the Angels.

During his seven-year MLB career, he has hit .274 with 72 doubles, four triples, 31 homers, and 163 RBIs in 531 career games.
