Chicago Cubs outfielder Christopher Morel continues his red-hot play offensively with a solo homer in Sunday's 2-1 loss against the Philadelphia Phillies. The homer traveled 356 feet with an exit velocity of 103.3 MPH. It was his eighth homer of the season in only 11 MLB games. If you count his minor league totals this season, he has hit 19 homers in 40 total games. Morel is the Cub in franchise history (since 1901) to record eight home runs in the first 11 games of a season. According to the Cubs, Morel is also the fourth player in the major leagues since 2000 to hit 8 homers in the first 11 games of a season.
