In this episode of 'On the Road', learn how Chicago Cubs pitcher Hayden Wesneski prepared for the 2023 season and how he unwinds in Arizona after a long day at the practice facility.

"I think spring training is the biggest business trip of the year," Wesneski said in the following video. "For guys like me that are younger, we're trying to earn our place in the baseball world, and so it really is a business trip of trying to find our spot on the Cubs' roster."

Wesneski is pretty tired after a long day practicing baseball.

"During the day, you have one thing after another. You talked to your coaches, you worked out, you threw, you had a really good catch, and just kind of get ready for what's about to come. I'm pretty dead after a long day. So you end up leaving the field just wore out. I'll sit in my car for 10 minutes and just take a breath. And then, okay, let's go. We've got to go now."

Big-league baseball has more pressure with the spotlight on the players and the money that gets thrown around.

"Recharging in baseball is a huge deal, especially as a young guy. You try to be a professional but it's totally different. There's more media. There's more cameras. There's more money involved."
