by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs' offensive onslaught against the Los Angeles Dodgers continued on Friday afternoon, with second baseman Nico Hoerner adding his name to the list of players who hit a home run in the game.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, with the Cubs already leading 9-0, Hoerner stepped up to the plate with two runners on base and blasted a three-run homer that traveled 375 feet and landed in the left-field stands.

The home run was the first of the season for Hoerner.

The Cubs have now scored 10 or more runs in six of their first 19 games this season, a sign that their lineup has the potential to be one of the most potent in the National League.
