'Travis Wood Day' proclaimed in Arkansas |
Chicago Cubs reliever Travis Wood had an impressive 2016 season as he was a reliable bullpen arm and even showed his extraordinary versatility in the outfield, power in the batter's box, and occasionally pinch-running when needed.
The Governor of Arkansas Asa Hutchinson proclaimed Friday, 'Travis Wood Day' in Arkansas for all of his exploits in helping the Cubs win the World Series. Wood also got a blue address sign that said T. Wood Way. In 2016, Wood had a 4-0 record with a 2.95 ERA with 47 strikeouts and a 1.13 WHIP in the regular season. During the postseason, he had a save with two holds with a 2.84 ERA. Great homecoming for Bryant's own Travis Wood of the 2016 World Series Champion @Cubs.
