Anthony Rizzo injury update

Tony Crumpton Tony Crumpton - Senior Editor -

Chicago Cubs standout first baseman Anthony Rizzo won't start tonight's nationally televised game against the Brewers with a back that has tightened up according to a report by ESPN. There is a chance that Rizzo will be available to pinch-hit if he is needed in an important spot.

Kris Bryant will start in his place for a rare first base start.

Rizzo's injury is day-to-day, and the Cubs hope that he will be fine for Tuesday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds. The 15 inning marathon game on Saturday in cold weather was probably a significant factor flaring up his current back issue.

He is currently batting .252 with ten homers and 29 RBIs this season.
